Teach English to a new generation and help improve their future while learning more about the local people and culture.

Teaching in our Vietnamese schools will not only help the students broaden their minds, but it will also be a fulfilling experience for you! Teaching staff will provide guidance as well as lesson plans for you based on their curriculum, but you will also create real-life conversations, games and other activities using the English language.

This project gives you the opportunity to work alongside students and teach them basic English. The schools have an english curriculum and you will be tasked with assisting the local staff while following set guidelines.

We have a strong relationship with a local primary school that needs teaching support. We also work with a private school that is open in the evenings and during school holidays, allowing this teaching program to be active all year long!

Both schools are populated with 300-500 children between 5-15 years old. Teachers are always appreciated, especially in the public school where class-sizes can reach up to 40 students. Don’t be scared by the large class sizes! Local teachers will be around to support you and make sure your time in the school makes for a wonderful experience.

Please note this trip may require you to purchase a cultural experience week with it. Click Here to find the relevant cultural experience week based on the country where this trip operates in.

Aims & Objectives
  • Improve English language of the local Vietnamese children
  • Give the children a chance at conversing in English
  • Provide you with insight into a different education system
  • Provide you with teaching experience, an invaluable life skill!

Your first day eases you into the program and will be more introductory. In the morning you will be shown around the school and facilities. Then in the afternoon you can take part in the classroom and help the teachers understand your abilities. You may end up being a classroom assistant or even lead teacher of a class.

Tuesday to Friday

This public school is open from 07:00 - 17:00 every weekday. During this time you may expect 2 -3 hours of teaching per day, along with 2 hours of preparation for these classes (4-5 hours total).

You may become fully involved with the regular activities of the school, helping out where needed and spending time exchanging cultures and stories with the the children and locals. If you are placed at the private school (for instance during summer holidays), you can expect a similar schedule but at different times as the private school is open from 17:00 - 22:00.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
