Aims & Objectives
- Improve English language of the local Vietnamese children
- Give the children a chance at conversing in English
- Provide you with insight into a different education system
- Provide you with teaching experience, an invaluable life skill!
Schedule
Monday
Your first day eases you into the program and will be more introductory. In the morning you will be shown around the school and facilities. Then in the afternoon you can take part in the classroom and help the teachers understand your abilities. You may end up being a classroom assistant or even lead teacher of a class.
Tuesday to Friday
This public school is open from 07:00 - 17:00 every weekday. During this time you may expect 2 -3 hours of teaching per day, along with 2 hours of preparation for these classes (4-5 hours total).
You may become fully involved with the regular activities of the school, helping out where needed and spending time exchanging cultures and stories with the the children and locals. If you are placed at the private school (for instance during summer holidays), you can expect a similar schedule but at different times as the private school is open from 17:00 - 22:00.
This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
