The program is based at a local health clinic in Peru, which is focused on a range of issues relating to women’s and sexual health. Gain some practical experience working alongside professionals in the field while experiencing a foreign culture.


This women’s health clinic has three areas of focus:

Information, education, and training

This focus includes protecting rural communities and their women and children through talks, workshops, contraceptive distribution, and sexual health trainings. They work to promote responsible parenting.

Health Clinic

The main focus during your internship here, this area provides medical services that relate directly to women and their health. This includes but is not limited to OBGYN, pre-natal, breast cancer scans, general medicine, lab work, psychology and consultations.


This includes studies, diagnostics, and project designs regarding sexual and reproductive health and caring for the environment even.

Aims & Objectives
  • Support the women’s health clinic with the medical help and attention they offer to the community
  • Make a difference to not only the patients but also the staff and the clinic itself
  • Exchange medical knowledge whilst gaining further knowledge and experience of nursing and medicinal practice
Monday to Friday

You will be working morning till afternoon with a trained professional to administer medicine, do follow-ups, see to patients, and assist where needed and where your relevant experience and qualifications can contribute.

You will be assisting trained professionals with daily tasks and activities in the clinic itself as well as the local community. You will be presenting talks, training sessions, following up on patients, and going for visits to locals in the community.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
