Gain work experience by shadowing doctors in the hospitals in and around Kathmandu.

During the internship, you will gain valuable experience and learn by observing the procedures of the in-house doctors. The internship can take place in either government, private or community hospitals around Kathmandu. This program is aimed for medicine students or those with a medical background.

Overview

Our medical program allows you to gain valuable experience by working as an intern in either a government, private, or community hospital in Kathmandu and in around Kathmandu Valley.

You will spend your time here shadowing doctors, observe the medical experts and may be called upon to assist doctors and nurses.

There will not be any hands-on work unless you are very experienced. If not, then most of your learning will be through observation.

To impart knowledge and to gain exposure to various new medical standards of this country.

Schedule
Monday to Friday

You will spend the day shadowing doctors and may be called upon to assist doctors and nurses. When there is operation you get to observe it. Tasks and timings vary depending on the current needs at the hospital.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

Required qualification:        Medical students/nursing students/practitioners

Additional Requirements
  • This project is available to those who have enrolled into a university course in any of the medical fields.
  • We require a CV and "Letter of motivation" before being accepted into this placement.
  • A reference letter authorized by your university or the hospital or clinic you are presently working at.

Additional Equipment
  • Casual dress is appropriate during your time at the hospital. However, no-see through clothes or low cut tops are permitted.
  • Lab coat (white coat).

Accommodation, food, airport pick-up (if required), full support in-country, pre-departure advice and project transport.
