A teaching internship where you can share your professional skills and knowledge!

Do you have a skill you can teach? Our monastery school is looking for professionals who can share useful skills and inspire different careers for our students. Practical skills such as hairdressing, cooking, IT, or anything else you can share in a workshop. This project is perfect for you if you love to work with children and want to improve their future prospects.

Overview

We have partnered with a local monastery school looking for teachers of different work experiences/backgrounds. Do you have any practical skills you could share with the students?

Examples of what you could teach are:

  • Cooking/Culinary skills
  • Basic programming
  • Basic website design
  • Hair dressing
  • Carpentry
  • Tailoring

Learning more about a particular field through classes and exercises can inspire local students! We hope that some may even choose to further their study and get stable jobs in the future from such workshops. At the very least it will give them some life skills and broaden their ideas!

The classes should be delivered as an active workshop, so you need to have practical or academic experience in your field and be confident in leading a group.

You may not be in your comfort zone teaching in a language the students are not used to, so the more “hands on” your lessons are, the more your students benefit.

The children are between 13 and 18 years of age and you may be expected to work 4-5 hours a day, about half that time being for preparation.

Please note this trip may require you to purchase a cultural experience week with it. Click Here to find the relevant cultural experience week based on the country where this trip operates in.
