Get mentored in journalism by the chief editor while you cover various subjects in Goa for a weekly review about see’s and do’s in Goa.

During your internship, you will get to travel around Goa covering different subjects such as arts, music, culture, environment, literature and more. You will be assisting award-winning journalist Steven Gutkin by working in the office, assisting him, attending conferences and more!


Goa Streets is an alternative news & entertainment weekly review that delivers a not-to-be-missed sketch of what to do, see, eat and experience in Goa. About your mentor

Steven Gutkin, the venture’s chief mentor, is an award-winning journalist who has reported from some two dozen countries in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Americas. An international newsman for 30 years, Steven served as Bureau Chief with the Associated Press, the world’s largest news gathering organization, in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, AP Bureau Chief in Caracas, Venezuela, as well as AP’s Chief of Southeast Asia Services, first in Singapore and then in Indonesia. Steven covered the rise and fall of the Medellin and Cali cocaine cartels in Colombia, rode into Kabul with a triumphant Northern Alliance and directed coverage of wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza and Lebanon. He also directed coverage of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill for the AP, and helped lead the news cooperative’s operations in the southern United States. Steven covered the killing of Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Mexico, the death of Yasser Arafat, the Elian Gonzalez case in Cuba, a coup in Fiji and the rise to power of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Steven has also worked for the New York Times, the Washington Post, Newsweek and CBS Radio.

***Minimum duration of the internship is of three weeks. Moreover, you will be required to join our Orientation Week before starting the internship.***

Aims & Objectives

To provide valuable work experience for those interested in a journalism career.

Monday to Friday

You will be working every day from 10:00 until 17:00. Your day-to-day roles will vary depending on the needs at the time.

This schedule can be changed and/or amended depending on weather conditions, local conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
