Join our volunteer programme for a unique opportunity to be trained as a marine research assistant in the great white shark capital of the world. Have the experience of a lifetime studying great white sharks and other shark species near Cape Town, South Africa.

You will contribute towards our white shark dorsal fin identification study, learn how to analyse white shark fins, learn ethical handling and angling of other sharks, take part in our shark tagging trips and assist with data management. You will also assist with educating clients on our cage-diving tourist boat and have ample opportunities to come face-to-face with these magnificent apex predators in multiple cage diving experiences.

Programmes typically commence on the 1st of the month. However, volunteers can be accommodated at any time of the month provided prior arrangements are made.

All volunteers will be housed in our volunteer house, located just a 10 minute walk or a two minute drive from the harbor we launch from. The house can accommodate 10 volunteers at a time, with between two to four volunteers per room. It is spacious, comfortable and a home away from home. All linen will be provided along with Satellite TV, WiFi, laundry facilities and a cleaning service.
