Renovation and Construction projects support the village community centers such as village schools, village playgrounds, public libraries etc. We will make a difference for the local villages and also the children by supporting them to have better living conditions.

Construction of authentic longhouse is to revive the culture of the community. We plan to build some longhouses according to the original design and materials used to build long-houses as in the olden days.

You will partake in the construction of long-houses, a practice that is rapidly becoming popular in Malaysia as the insulating qualities of clay generate a cool temperature to live in. Besides this, the ecological way of building contributes to a healthy lifestyle and environment.

Traditional construction methods passed down by many generations of Malaysian people will be used. Anyone is welcome to join as even unskilled people can contribute to the building process through the production of materials for the long-houses. Not only are long-houses fun to build but you will also leave with brand new skills!

Please note this trip may require you to purchase a cultural experience week with it. Click Here to find the relevant cultural experience week based on the country where this trip operates in.

Aims & Objectives

The aim of this project is to test your teamwork and creative skills through a new and fun challenge!

Monday to Friday

After breakfast, you will be off to the school. You will then be organized into groups and be briefed on your tasks by our coordinator and the school’s staff. Expect to do heavy work at the site for 4-5 hours per day with a lunch break in between. Lunch is always at a nearby roadside restaurant and stops at the local town can be made on the way back to the accommodation.

Please take note of the school holidays (12-16 Mar, 28 May-12 Jun, 10-18 Sep & 26 Nov-31 Dec) as well as public holidays. During such times, painting or renovation work continues, with the option to join special classes and English camps that are regularly requested by the local community.
