Working on a superyacht is an exciting career option, leading to travel and adventure opportunities worldwide.

This is a modular course

Basic Safety is a compulsory qualification for crew on superyachts and all vessels over 24 metres.

• STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
• STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
• STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness

The course is suitable for complete beginners who want to achieve commercial qualifications for deckhand work. All crew members working on board need to have full colour vision. If you are colour blind, affecting your ability to distinguish lights, you should consider having an eye test before booking your course.

TCW Basic Safety Course
RYA Powerboat Level 2 The two day Powerboat Level 2 course provides intensive training in the practical skills and theory knowledge needed by the small boat driver.

This certificate is required to drive the yacht's tenders in many countries. Tender driving is a primary function of deck crew, so Captains expect to see this qualification on your CV (resume).

Superyacht Deck Foundation
An intensive six day course to teach you the basic tasks that will be required of you. A During the week you will cover, Rope work. Radar, Essential Navigation and Gel Coat Repairs. We help with your CV and prepare you for life onboard

Short Range Radio
The RYA Radio VHF Short Range Certificate (GMDSS/DSC) is a requirement under maritime law for operating the radio at sea. This one day course teaches you standard radio techniques and emergency procedures.

(Optional) Superyacht Recruitment Day in Antibes
There is no additional charge for this Recruitment day in the South of France. Our staff in Antibes will meet you and help you through the process of seeking employment. This includes, local crew agencies, what to expect, personal presentation, dock walking a final polish of your CV before you begin your career in the Superyacht Industry.

On completion of this course, you will have all the qualifications required to apply for a job as a deckhand on a superyacht.
