Our Medical Program is aimed to add to your work experience and give you a cultural exchange experience, all while helping the locals you will be caring for.

General La Madrid is a small district in the province of Buenos Aires with a population of around 10,000.It has a district hospital to provide general treatment and a community clinic here that works hard to give out specific treatments such as vaccinations, baby checkups etc.

You will be working in either the clinic or hospital and you may also be called outstation to visit the locals around the district for medical record keeping purposes.

Your main task will be to assist and work alongside a local nurse or doctor as they are giving treatments. You will not have your own patients, however you will be expected to assist where necessary. The work tasks you’ll be given will depend upon your skills, confidence and medical background.

Being a small district, you shouldn’t expect to be very busy and treatments will depend on the patients of course. But this program will also be a good way for you exchange working experiences and knowledge with local staff as you spend time with them and the local culture.

Your time here will be even more productive if you know any spanish!

Please note this trip may require you to purchase a cultural experience week with it. Click Here to find the relevant cultural experience week based on the country where this trip operates in.
