All our placements are in the city of Mendoza on he eastern flanks of the Andes mountain chain. It is one of the most visited places in Argentina, after the capital Buenos Aires and makes the perfect home for overseas visitors.

As a city of nearly 150 000 people, Mendoza has the odd balance of not feeling so large that it is totally overwhelming, but at the same time being big enough to offer lots of exciting possibilities.

Greater Mendoza region has about 1million population. Therefore with its suburbs this is more than a small city!

Numerous plazas, each with its own unique identity, dominate the city centre and tree lined streets. There are plenty of shops (some of which you will instantly recognise), open malls and easy, cheap and frequent bus and tram services.

Mendoza is best known internationally for its wine growing, its huge variety of outdoor pursuits and as the gateway to South America’s highest mountain, Aconcagua and the surrounding peaks.

Whilst all visitors (and indeed the locals) need to take ‘common sense’ safety precautions, especially at night, you will very quickly feel Mendoza can be called home!
