On arrival at Mendoza, Jose Mostafá, the Changing Worlds representative will welcome you.

Given the very long flight, you will enjoy a few days relaxing and getting over the jet lag before the programme formally begins.

Jose, with help from his Spanish teaching friend Amparo, has designed a ten-day Spanish language programme to introduce you to Argentinean Spanish. The course will give you a greater understanding of the subtle differences between the Spanish you learned in the UK and that spoken by the locals. The course is designed to help you to understand the theory but, more importantly, to give you a chance to apply what you have learned in the classroom to the real world. It is fun and incorporates lots of activities including visits and excursions around the city and the local region.

Jose will provide you with ongoing support throughout your stay in Mendoza. Jose is used to this role as he has been playing host to US students at the university in Mendoza for the last 13 years.

Jose was born in San Rafael (you will get a chance to go there – some three hours drive away). He moved to Mendoza as a student and he’s still there and, as a result, has the uncanny habit of bumping into friends all over the place! He has travelled widely, including visiting the USA every year, Europe (not the UK as yet but that’s on his 'to do' list!) and Africa. As a result he understands the challenges of living and working overseas.

Jose possesses excellent communication skills. He is fluent in both Spanish (his mother tongue) and English. He says he wants to learn British English better as opposed to American English…perhaps you can help?
