Changing Worlds complies with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1988, and is defined as a ‘data controller’ in the Act. It will be essential for us to transfer your personal data, including Sensitive Data, to representatives and other organisations both in the UK and overseas. This exchange of information is essential to organise your placement and ensure your safety whilst there.
You should be aware that other countries may not have the same level of security and protection for your personal information as generally exists in the UK.
It is assumed that when you fill in the application form for a placement organised by Changing Worlds that you are specifically agreeing to your data being transferred, held and used in your best interests, both within the UK and overseas.
We may also pass your personal contact details on to other volunteers who are going to be in the same country at the same time, so that you can contact each other before travelling, unless you specifically ask us not to do so.
We may also use your personal details to send you marketing materials, unless you have asked us not to do so.
Please let us know immediately if there are any inaccuracies or omissions in the records we hold about you, or any changes we need to make to keep your details up to date.
You should also be aware of our Privacy Policy, which is revised occasionally.
